A chronic problem.
US Supreme Court rules that state medicinal marijuana statutes do not trump federal law.
From the point of view that illegal drugs are governed by federal statute, and it fits with judicial precedent, the court made the correct ruling.
From the point of view that terminally ill patients need marijuana to deal with pain and have a normal appetite, this is an unfortunate ruling.
What is the next step? Pushing for a federal law allowing prescription marijuana use. I think that we could get this passed, and might even pull enough votes together for a veto buster.
