Stone the woman
Via Buzzflash, the Star Tribune has a story about a young woman in Montgomery, Alabama, who because of her pregnancy, was not allowed to walk in her Catholic HS graduation. The father of her child was allowed to walk. This prompted me to think of a certain young woman, who was presented to Jesus as an adulterer. Jesus said that he who was without sin should throw the first stone. Perhaps the leaders of the school are without sin. The other thing I thought of were Muslim women who were beaten, stoned or imprisoned for adultery, while their partners, or in some cases rapists, walked free. I'm not attempting a comparison, just noting my stream of consciousness.
What happened to the young woman? She announced her own name and walked. Her fellow students applauded her
