Good line from Conan

Watching rerun of Conan on CNBC. He said that Bush was still mad about Newsweek posting the story about the Qu'ran being flushed. Newsweek was mad too, and wanted to know who read the story to Bush.

Oh, and the Red Cross (via AmericaBlog) says that Qu'ran desecration did occur, and that they had told the US government about it. If you don't understand why this is a big deal to Muslims, think about these examples...
  1. Fits thrown over 10 commandments monuments being removed from courthouses.
  2. Anger over flag burning.
  3. Some people who write God as G_d, so that if the paper it is written on is destroyed, a name of God is not.
  4. Two words, Janet Jackson.
Also, all a protest needs to become a mob is an agitator. People don't think the same in a group as they do on their own. And the English language signs we all have seen at protests aren't meant for al Jazeera, but for CNN-international (and the like). This isn't to say that there isn't anyone in the crowd that can read English, but rather that the whole world will be able to see it, read it, and understand what the issue at hand is. Does anyone remember the revolution in Iran? Crowds only chanted when the little light on the TV cameras was on...
