Birth of Black Hole detected!

Cool news. Sometimes I think astrophysics must be a really neat field. Two neutron stars colliding to create a small black hole. And somebody got to "observe" it. Of course you can't "see" the gamma ray burst, but with the right instruments you can. That someone got to record the gamma burst and the flash of visible light after it is really amazing. The light took 2.2 billion years to get here. Of course, the earth is only a few thousand years old. HA! And I'm the tooth fairy.
